The purpose of this course is to equip individuals to serve as Christian Religious Professionals who can lead a faith community in spiritual formation, nurture fellowship, and promote the holistic well-being of members. It focuses on developing leaders who can guide others in their Christian lifestyle, provide visionary leadership, and engage in missional practices that share the good news of Jesus Christ.
You will develop leadership skills for guiding spiritual formation and community growth, build practical life skills to support holistic well-being, learn to nurture fellowship and mutual care within the faith community, and develop strategies for sustainable ministry leadership. Additionally, you will gain skills in evangelism and missional practices, serving the community both spiritually and socially.
The course spans over a period of one year, divided into three terms. Each term is designed to build on the previous one, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Christian ministry. The course will include a combination of theoretical learning, practical assignments, and spiritual development, with an exam at the end of the year to assess your readiness to serve as a Christian Religious Professional.
This course will equip you with the necessary skills to address both the spiritual and practical needs of your faith community. You will learn how to guide members in their relationship with God, nurture fellowship, and provide support through proactive and reactive life skills. Additionally, you will develop a missional practice to engage with and serve the broader community by sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a qualification as a Christian Religious Professional. This qualification will certify you as someone equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience to lead a faith community, provide spiritual and practical guidance, and engage in missional practices within your community.
The Christian Religious Professional (NQF Level 5, SAQA ID: 101571, 237 Credits) qualification equips learners with essential leadership and ministry skills for serving faith communities effectively. It focuses on spiritual formation, fellowship, holistic well-being, visionary leadership, and missional outreach. This qualification addresses the need for formal training among religious practitioners, particularly in Pentecostal, Charismatic, and African Initiated Churches, where structured education has been lacking. By providing a recognized occupational certificate, it ensures that spiritual leaders develop competencies to nurture their communities, promote Christian values, and contribute to society's well-being.
